the next chapter

So one chapter in my life is now over and we are ready to move on to a new one. Can't wait to see what this one will bring. so many changes. My divorce is final and I am now free to be with Jason, if he will have me lol.
Alex is talking marriage when Falyshia gets home from boot camp she leaves in march and will be home in sept. In the mean time we will keep Alex occupied somehow so he doesn't sit and mope about her being gone too much.
Dj is living out on his own in his own apartment and living the single life. I think he enjoys it a little too much. we don't see much of him lately.
Nikieshia is having a baby which is due in Sept. Yes it was not a planned thing at this point in her life but babies are a blessing and we will love it no matter what and support her through this time in her life, as I hope you all will.
Tristen is doing great. grades are up and he and jason have seemed to connect when it comes it dirt bikes and video games. I love watching these two have conversations together. can't help but smile.
Braxton just turned 15 and is focused only on friends and if he will only stay out of trouble his dad won't ground him so much. He  is a great kid just a teenager is all. lol
Dakota, baby koda is excited he won't be the baby, on his dads side anyways, any longer he is looking forward to being a big brother. but Sorry Koda you will always be my baby. He is just like Alex and Braxton lives eats and breaths sports. mainly football and basketball. He's doing great in school and I am so proud of him.
As for me I am working two jobs right now. so that keeps me busy as well as the kids and jason. I love it when things are going well. Despite unexpected bumps in the road I can't complain at all. Like Jason tells me we just take them one day at a time and deal with them as they come. That Advice has helped me emensely.

Family Reunion

I can't believe it is that time already. Time to start planning and thinking about the family reunion. I guess I am the lucky one to be in charge this year so I am taking requests. I need to know who wants to cook what and when, who wants to do the games, which weekend do we want to have it on. the 24 falls on a tuesday so we can plan for the weekend before or the weekend after? Majority will win on this so get your votes in.
Also what kinds of things would you like to see this year? any fun and new ideas you might have are welcomed.  Don't forget the infamous talent show, wouldn't be a reuinion without it. Be thinking of fun and exciting talents you want to share with us all.  I love to  see all the great ideas you come up with.
Update on things in Idaho. Things are going well just staying busy with work. Kids seems to be doing well. We have had a few bumps in the road but that is to be expected with kids and situational things. Jason and I are still together and I love him more and more everyday. He is a great support to me helping me get through life when it is difficult and making it better when things are good. Took him to Yellowstone for the first time this week and it was alot of fun.
DJ just turned 19 this week don't like to think of that makes me feel old. Alex is just about to graduate this month. He and his girlfriend are already talking marriage that also makes me feel old. Nikieshia is constantly looking for trouble. I'm told she will out grow this my fingers are crossed. Braxton will finish Jr high this year and is looking forward to high school and football. Tristen is trying to keep up with all the going ons he hates no knowing things so his nose is into everything.lol. Dakota is trying to keep up with his older brothers this boy seems to think he is 30 instead of almost 10. I just need him to slow down a little.

moving forward

Its been a long time since i have posted and alot has happened. the biggest change is the person in my life. I met jason 7 months ago and I can not wait to marry this man. he makes me so happy. He is from Belize and has the sweetest accent, i love to just sit and listen to him talk. Kids seem to like him and he loves the kids.
alex just started a new job and seems excited about working and having money. he will graduate this year man time flies.
Dj is still working at the shilo and is enjoying having freedom to do what he wants as an adult, now if i can just get him to start school lol.
Nikieshia struggled a little with high school and has moved over to Lincoln where Alex attends and will hopefully enjoy it more and have an easier time.
Braxton is busy hanging out with friends and tormenting his little brothers. he is counting down the time till football starts again for him.
Tristen is anywhere he can be besides home. he likes to be on the go be it with friends or his mom or dad. he has started playing soccer this year and is liking it so far.
Dakota, my baby, is growing up so fast he is also counting time down till he plays football. i can't seem to keep a football out of this boys hands.
Jason got me a key board for christmas and I got him a saxophone and we have decided to become musical this year. he has never played but is so excited to learn and for me to get back into playing piano again. I love that he wants anything we do to do it together.
thats my update in a nutshell.

crazy times

haven't posted in a while. so much going on and not enough time in the day. We are closing up another school year and there is alot going on. I am trying to pack up my center and store it away for a couple months until our new building is ready and then the joy of unpacking it. Luckily i have the best staff and they are great to do what needs to be done!!

Dj is graduating this year and we are busy with seminary grad and all the fun things that go along with graduation. I am so proud of him for this. He is a great example to the rest of my kids.

commencement was also last weekend and Dj and Alex both took their girlfriends they all look so nice. i was a proud mama.

My friend broke her ankle while visiting here so we have been passing her around it was my turn this weekend and it was fun having her and the babies here to play with. Makes me grateful my kids are older and can help.

im sure you all heard that i had planned to move this summer to Oklahoma, but plans have changed and i will be staying here in idaho falls. Kinda sad not to be off on a new adventure but maybe someday. timing just wasn't right. thank you to those who helped me through that decision.

moving forward

as most of you know there have been alot of changes going on in the combe household. Dj and Alex are going to a new high school and have been pulling straight A's couldn't be more proud of them. Dj will even graduate early yea dj. Nikieshia has been doing cheer and i think she likes it. give her something to do besides think about friends and boys lol. Braxton is in middle school this year and has been doing great. he was going to try out for basketball but changed his mind at the last min. cold feet i think. Tristen is the usual social butterfly he seems to like everything his brothers don't. he gets alot of teasing from this but he sticks to his guns. Dakota follows alex and braxton around and wants to play every sport out there.
the biggest changes that have been made recently are Dan and I are no longer together. after 18 years we have seperated and filed for divorce. i am sure this is not a surpise to most of u but i have never officially announced it till now. This is a difficult challenge for all of us but i am sure that as time goes on things will fall into place and we will all find our way out of this difficult time. i thank you all for ur support. you all mean everything to us.

summers over?

I can't believe how fast this summer went by. School starts monday for us all so I guess it's back to the old grind stone. Summer was pretty quiet this year but still fun. We spent days at the lake swimming, girls camp, scout camp, working and relaxing. Sadly we never did get to go camping but it is hard to find the time with so many people and their different schedules. I have learned that as the kids become teenagers and pre teen that friends take presedent over anything else. I have become a surrogate mother to most of Nikieshia friends and they even call me mom. This way I got my girls but can send them home too. worked out well. We had a border with us for a couple weeks. Alex's friend Ivan had some trouble at home and stayed with us for a while. He now is just like one of the family when he is over and fits right in. He's still not quite sure of the teasing I give him but will have learn that is only because we like him. My home is the official hang out place for anyone and everyone it seems. I got up one morning before anyone else and walked into the family room and there sat a group of boys. friends of the kids. Kind of shocking but glad they feel safe here. However there are some days I do say NO friends I need a break. ha yea right.
A big event that happened this summer was Dakota's baptism the date was decided on suddenly so it was just us but was still special. Dakota was so excited. Our bishop baptised him and one of the councelors confirmed him. I have pictures but have not found the cord to my camera so can not post them at this time.
The family reunion was loads of fun as usual. we all enjoyed ourselves despite the teasing of dad about my nose ring. but that comes with the territory.
I do have a bit of sad news, my best friend here has moved to Salt Lake and I am feeling a bit lost without her. She was having some hard times and chose to move closer to her mom. I wish her all the best and love her lots. Now i have to figure out what to do with myself when I need to get away.
